What is life Coaching

Life coaching is a process where a trained professional, known as a life coach, works with individuals to help them achieve personal and professional goals, overcome challenges, and unlock their full potential. A life coach offers guidance, support, and accountability, helping clients make positive changes in various aspects of their lives, such as career, relationships, health, and personal growth.

Life coaches don't provide therapy or counseling for mental health issues; instead, they focus on helping clients clarify their goals, create action plans, and stay motivated. The coaching process often includes goal setting, problem-solving, decision-making, and developing strategies to overcome obstacles. Life coaching aims to empower individuals, boosting their confidence and helping them lead more fulfilling, purposeful lives.

What NOT to expect from coaching?

  • Coaching is NOT counselling : Counseling focuses on addressing emotional or psychological issues, helping individuals heal from past trauma or manage mental health challenges, often with licensed professionals. Coaching, however, is future-focused, helping clients set and achieve specific goals, improve performance, and develop personal or professional skills. While counseling deals with emotional well-being, coaching centers on growth and goal accomplishment.

  • Coaching is NOT therapy : Therapy focuses on healing past trauma and addressing mental health issues, often provided by licensed professionals. Coaching, on the other hand, helps individuals set and achieve goals, improve performance, and develop skills, without delving into deep psychological concerns.

  • Coaching is NOT mentoring : Mentoring involves a more experienced individual guiding a less experienced person, offering advice and support for long-term growth. Coaching, however, is goal-focused and helps individuals achieve specific objectives through structured strategies and accountability. While mentoring provides broader guidance, coaching is more action-oriented and results-driven.
